The Advance Nitrox or CSU Course The Advance Nitrox or CSU course provides the foundation for technical diving. It serves as a required step before continuing into more advanced levels. Divers in this program can use any Nitrox mixture with approved ANDI applications. They dive with one main cylinder and one RBS (Redundant Breathing System) while staying within NSR (No-Stop-Required) limits. If they meet extra requirements, they may also use twin set cylinders.

Limitations This training follows the scope of the TDI Level 2 program. It prepares students to use Nitrogen and Oxygen mixtures ranging from 22% to 50%. The maximum training depth is 40 msw (130 fsw). During all dives, students must respect a bottom mix limit of 1.45 Bar / ata PO2. The maximum Oxygen exposure for light activity or at rest is 1.6 Bar / ata PO2.

Course Overview

The TDI Level 2 CSU course includes three main parts: theory, land skills, and open water dives. It combines classroom learning with hands-on practice so students gain both knowledge and experience.

First, students study five theory modules that match the five textbook chapters. This section builds a strong base in dive theory and safety. Next, they practice land skills that prepare them for real diving situations. Finally, they complete two open water dives. These dives use a sidemount or twinset setup with up to three tanks and two gases, giving students realistic technical diving experience.

The course package includes equipment, tuition, boat dives, certification, and gas expenses. Students must cover their own accommodation, meals, and travel costs.

Throughout the training, students develop essential diving skills. They practice buoyancy control, body trim, equipment matching, and proper weighting. They also improve propulsion techniques to move efficiently. Mask work is another key skill, including bubble-less clearing and mask exchange, which train students to handle emergencies calmly.

The program also teaches TDI-specific procedures. Students learn descent steps, gas switching, and safe ascent techniques. They practice deploying SMBs or lift bags and managing reels for navigation and signaling. In addition, they perform simulated decompression and stage stops to prepare for advanced dives.

By the end of the course, students understand advanced nitrox and CSU theory. More importantly, they gain the confidence and ability to use these technical diving skills safely and effectively.
