DSD
DSD stands for Discover Scuba Diving, a program offered by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). It’s designed for individuals who are interested in scuba diving but have little or no prior experience. During a DSD experience, participants receive basic instruction and guidance from a certified instructor. The session typically begins with a brief orientation to scuba equipment, safety procedures, and underwater communication signals. Participants then practice basic scuba skills in a controlled environment, such as a pool or shallow water.
After the initial instruction, participants usually go for an actual scuba dive under the close supervision of the instructor. This dive allows them to experience the underwater world firsthand, usually in a safe and controlled environment like a confined water area or a shallow reef. DSD is a great way for people to get a taste of scuba diving before committing to a full certification course. It’s also popular among travelers who want to try diving while on vacation in tropical destinations.
Keep in mind that DSD does not result in scuba diving certification; it’s simply an introductory experience. If participants enjoy it and want to become certified divers, they can enroll in an Open Water Diver course or a similar certification program. Discover Scuba Diving is suitable for anyone at least 10 years old, with no prior experience required, though participants should be in reasonable physical health.
Or if you want to do the real course with certification is Open Water
